Why use cement tiles? Because they are versatile, durable and beautiful. We hand craft each tile using traditional methods with high quality materials right here in Australia. These tiles are made to stand the test of time.

Our Story

Sabiha Tiles was born from a love of handmade artistry, design, and cultural heritage. Founder Natalie Vassallo’s Maltese roots, shaped by her grandparents' migration to Australia in the 1950s, deeply influenced her creative journey.

During her first visit to Malta in 2017, she was captivated by the vibrant, tessellating cement tiles in a relative's centuries-old home. This fascination led her to an artisan tile maker, where she learned the craft and brought samples home. With the unwavering support of her partner Joey, and Natalie’s background in design, they turned this passion into reality.

At Sabiha Tiles we aim to seamlessly blend Mediterranean charm with contemporary Australian style, offering locally made, high-quality tiles that preserve tradition, tell stories, and transform spaces with timeless beauty.

Making encaustic cement tiles is an intricate process - a technique finessed during the 1850s in the Mediterranean. Rather than glazing or firing like clay or ceramic tiles, they are hydraulically pressed and cured for a few weeks.
